Applying bold and italics

Here’s the executive summary: you can bold and italicize text in WordPress the same way you do in any word processing program.

You can also use strike-out text (strikethrough) or write code commands (inline code).

Adding links

I can also link to other posts or pages within this site. Let’s link to my first post.

Well I guess I’ll add a bunch of gnarly text so I can get a good chunky paragraph in here. La tee da de duh. I’ll add a bunch of gnarly text so I can get a good chunky paragraph in here. Writing some code . .
How different is "code" from "preformatted"?
Hm. Perhaps the code has the border around it?
(and how do I get out of this block now???)

Ah, just start a new paragraph block to get out of the preformatted text situ?

Ah, let’s see what the pull quote looks like.

Fancy Quotes

This is a quote block. It separates a small section of text where, presumably, you’re quoting someone else’s words.

This is where the citation would go.

But that’s not the only type of quote you can add to a WordPress post.

This is a pull quote. The name “pull quote” comes from the fact that the quote is “pulled” out of your layout and blown up, so it can command attention. Unlike quotes, pullquotes usually aren’t quotations from other people. Instead, a pull quote repeats something that’s written in the post itself.

Add citation

Well, that’s not working splendidly, but let’s move on.
